The owner of this rare ’82 Rabbit pickup is a Volkswagen enthusiast. When he came across this one, he fell in love and decided to customize it to his liking.
With a freshened up interior. and exterior, this little Rabbit should have a long life.
The foam was breaking down and had started to sag through the frame. The frame was reinforced with burlap and then the foam was replaced. Reproduction foam is not available for these seats, and since only certain areas were worn, I replaced the sections that were mishapen.
The interior was originally burgundy, but all components were changed to grey. Broken plastic trim was replaced, and all were carefully painted to match the new grey vinyl color. A coordinating Perennials fabric was used for the inserts.
